This medical facility fills the top floor of one of the newer buildings at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center.  The owner´s program included introducing machine-like efficiency to the flow of patients, information and the professional staff´s daily activities, while conforming to new HIPAA practice requirements.  It also includes design for the Idaho Neurological Institute; a separate, short term sub-tenant in an area designated for future expansion.  erstad ARCHITECTS  was directed to create a relaxing and non-clinical atmosphere for patients who are experiencing a great deal of pain.  Natural daylight is brought deep into the tenant space wherever possible with the use of windows, skylights and relights.  Seating was selected for comfort and ease of use for a variety of patient needs.  A soothing color palette of greens and blues was introduced in an attempt to help patients relax.  Color is also applied monochromatically to the exterior/interior of each form to promote both way-finding and a sense of place.
