As the presence of the University of Idaho has grown in the downtown area of Boise, so has the need for creating an alumni home for the Vandals in the Treasure Valley. In addition to the 130 faculty members and over 1200 students that take part in academic activities at The Water Center, the Center has become the hub to student outreach, alumni activities and leadership meetings in an unfinished spaced called “The Point”. Located at the South West corner of The Water Front building between Front and Broadway, The Point has the potential to strengthen connections to the community.

erstad ARCHITECTS enhancements include completing the mechanical and electrical construction, addressing acoustic issues and installing finishes on the floors, walls, windows and ceiling. As shown in the 3d renderings a large video conferencing wall will allow offsite participation in meeting or conferences, with flexible seating options for 80 to 100 people. A new indoor connection linking the existing classrooms to The Point will be located on the east side of the room. The new connection will bring visible interest inside and from the street with rotating digital images of not only the University, but from the Leaders, Students and Alumni, showcasing that we are all connected. This project is scheduled to be completed in late fall of 2009.
