D.L. Evans, Downtown [ + Photo 1 + Photo 2 + Photo 3 ]D.L. Evans bank has been a part of Idaho communities for over 100 years. In 2007 the bank found a location on 9th and Idaho for their first downtown Boise branch. erstad ARCHITECTS was asked to design a contemporary urban space, a “New York bank on a Burley budget”. eA was able to draw on several renovations, conceptual projects, and prototype branches we had previously completed for the Bank to reach the appropriate solution. Some of the contemporary design elements include cloud ceilings and canopies suspended below the exposed structural ceiling, floor-to-ceiling glass in all offices providing large amounts of natural daylight, as well as modern finishes, paint colors and contemporary light fixtures. Traditional photos of the bank’s history were digitally printed monochromatically on acrylic and used as signage in the space. In the end eA was able to successfully deliver that big city space on the small town budget. |
