| November 22, 2004 Idaho Business Review Bown Crossing's phase 2, with 8 buildings, slated soon Construction of the second, four-building phase of The Marketplace at Bown Crossing is slated to start this winter on the 35-acre mixed-use development in southeast Boise. The Marketplace at Bown Crossing - between ParkCenter Boulevard and Boise Avenue east of Law Avenue - will consist of eight buildings containing more than 20,000 square feet of specialty retail space, 11,000 square feet for restaurants, 12,000 square feet of professional office space and 11 residential loft units. Four of the buildings are completed, and five businesses have applied for tenant improvement permits from the City of Boise, said Derick O'Neill, president of Bown Crossing developer O'Neill Enterprises Inc. Kessler's European Cafe, Association Management Inc., Windermere Capital Group (a real estate firm headed by Steve Osborn), and O'Neill Enterprises Inc., have reserved space, O'Neill said. Another retailer that he would not identify also plans a shop in The Marketplace. Other commercial buildings planned at Bown Crossing include an office building of 3,500 square feet for J&H Forest Products - which is based near Coeur d'Alene and currently has its Boise office on Bobwhite Court - a 5,000 square foot building for an undisclosed dental practice. Construction of a building of 10,000 square feet, for one or more tenants, is slated to start in the spring or summer. Additional sites, along ParkCenter Boulevard and Bown Way, will be completed starting next year for single-occupant commercial buildings. Also next year, O'Neill Enterprises plans to start building a student drop-off are and 40-space overflow parking lot for Riverside Elementary School, and extend the Oregon Trail Path.
