Grubb & Ellis heads for Eagle River office building

Grubb & Ellis Idaho Commercial Group was to move from downtown Boise to Eagle this week.

The commercial real estate brokerage and property management firm leased 3,000 square feet on the first floor of Eagle River II, a new two-story building of 16,000 square feet on East Riverside Drive in the Eagle River Development.  Grubb will vacate 2,000 square feet in the Cornerstone Building at Ninth and River streets.

Aaron Doughty and Tim Reid are principals in the firm with Scott Steward, designated broker and managing director.  The firm operated as Windermere Commercial until affiliating with Chicago-based Grubb & Ellis a year ago.

The move places the company in an area of strong commercial growth that is close to many clients and employees, Stewart said.

"And we feel like Eagle River carries the prestige and atmosphere we like to associate ourselves with," Doughty added.

Grubb will market lease space in the new building, owned by Eagle River LLC, said Reid, who moved to the firm last summer from Colliers.

Grubb employs eight agents and three support staff in the Boise area, including several added in the past six months.  Clients include Eagle River LLC, DBSI Group, and Dave Evans Construction.

Stewart said the firms plans to add two agents this year.

Another commercial real estate firm that moved recently was Boise-based NAI Kowallis & Mackey, which moved from Fifth and Idaho to the Viewpointe building at Overland Road and Federal Way.
