Riverside Hotel Entry

The largest hotel in the Treasure Valley, The Riverside Hotel in Garden City, asked erstad ARCHITECTS to help them create an updated main entrance that would be more visible, provide a formal sense of arrival and reflect upon the relationship between the hotel and the adjacent Boise River. The improvements have created a comfortable environment for guests in all seasons and the new lighting enhances the welcoming atmosphere to Boise’s resort on the river. The structure is designed to allow natural light to flow underneath the porte cochere into the lobby. In addition to the open/overlapping roof structure of the porte cochere, skylights were provided at either end of the entry vestibule to maximize the levels of natural light in an area that previously required artificial lighting during the daytime hours. Enhancements to the entrance also feature an area for bicycles available for guests, a “keyboard” crosswalk, and a bubbling sandstone water feature. Additional exterior improvements include new energy-efficient windows and new metal wall and roof panels at the 2nd level of the main building.
